In Beginning Drupal it tells you to go to Appearance and clicking Save Configuration to rebuild the Theme Registry. Today I was adding a template file to my sub-theme and I couldn't get it to activate in this way. I read somewhere that Clearing Cache in Performance was the way to do that, and in this case it worked. This is article is a note to self. :) I thought that would be ineffective since all the caching functions are turned off for now.
